hi the current thread regards lidl satelite is getting a bit long so opening a new one, i had to wait for the wind to die down before i could try out the lidl sat system bought friday. got it working ok and found i could get itv1 and itv3. i mention this because some members said that itv was coming to freeview. i am confirming that it is here now. another guy mentioned that the receiver could overheat, well let me warn you that on the bottom of the receiver is a sticky piece of plastic covering the air vents, i didn't notice this until after my practice session and was breaking the system down to go back into the box. :D

Hi Loury777

You are confusing "Freeview" with "Free-to-Air" - they are very different. ITV1 is indeed on Freeview but is NOT free to air and so cannot be picked up by the Lidl system. If you look carefully you will see that the channel listed as ITV1 on the Lidl system is in fact the ITV news channel - not ITV1! It is possible that ITV1 and 2 might go free to air soon but that can't be guaranteed.
As for overheating, after soak testing I can verify that these receivers are definitely suspect, see the thread under "parts and accessories". Unfortunately it isn't something as simple as a piece of film stuck on the bottom, much is the pity - I spotted that one straight away!

hi grizzly

my mistake ,sorry, when you replied to loury's posting it looked like you were talking about the same system and yours has allways been itv1 capable. as this is the satelite forum i assumed we were all talking satelites here.

not to worry , im sure itv will go free to air sometime , hopefully soon

cheers
