I have just discovered that the spare key on our 2 month old AS Symbol doesnt work. This is a manual key as opposed to the main electronic key that does work when the button is pressed (which is why it's taken me 2 months to find this out!) In fact neither key locks or unlocks the door when inserted and turned although both work in the ignition.
OK - this is clearly a base vehicle problem and surely a simple matter for any Peugeot dealer to sort out. ... or so I thought ...!
"We don't do motorhomes" is the response from my local Peugeot dealer. They wouldnt even look at it. (Startins in Redditch in case you are wondering) I have never come across a bigger bunch of disinterested Jobs-Worths!
So I try Autosleepers who are actually based a few miles from where I live. They helpfully suggested a dealer about 50 miles away! They said it was really a problem for Marquis whom I bought it from and don't have a list of Peugeot dealers who can help.
The only problem is that Marquis is another 50 miles away in the opposite direction but I rang them anyway. They were very helpful and offered to look at it and get it sorted by their local Peugeot base dealer but it really is a long way to have to go for such a minor problem.
Eventually I have found a dealer in Leamington who will look at it but what a performance!
It really makes me mad that we get bounced around from pillar to post when we have supposedly got a warranty. I can understand that not all dealers will have facilities to deal with large motorhomes if they need putting up on a ramp but this is a problem with a door lock on a small vehicle which probably just needs the door panel removing.
BTW when I asked about getting a second master key I was quoted £170 for a new master key + £35 labour (!!!!) + VAT but that's another story
Grrrrhh!!
