Mr Nuke

With many of us daily checking on the dreaded euro rate, how about a live feed into the forum page header giving the current rate?

Anybody with Vista can have that on the desktop if they want as part of the sidebar
Hi

Excellent idea me thinks. Can it also show the trend so we can judge the right time to buy (if there is such a thing)

Andy
I have added a feed for live rates on the left hand side of the front page of the site

I am not overly happy with the end result atm, it does show the data (Doesn't show trending I am afraid Andy) but it doesn't look that pretty ;) and I want to assess performance implications from having it on the site as well but it is there for your amusement for now :)
I am reluctant to request more functionality to be included in MHF, but if next Saturday's Lotto numbers could be included, that would be helpful and welcomed by many of us.

Dave
The BBC have a ticker at bbc.co.uk/business

Under the market data there is a button "Open" marketwatch ticker. This opens a seperate window that automatically updates. You can select Pound/Euro and it shows the trend today and over the last 3 months.

Hope that helps

lol not if 150,000 visitors saw the info and then bought tickets ;)

nice info Keith, I have added a link at the bottom of the new block to open up that data in a new window ;)
Yea but sometimes you can have too much info.

I have been watching this for some time and dived in on Monday only to see the rates go up again after I bought some for our two weeks starting on Saturday. GGGGgrrrrrr

That's two bottles of wine Gordon Brown owes me.

Excellent idea Westbay  & Thanks for implementing it Nuke :!:
Euro

The commercial rate today has nudged above 1.17, so in theory the cash rate tomorrow should clobber 1.13.

Thats a great idea..

Would it be possible to have the rates that are in a relevant order/interest to touring motorhomers, that would be the icing on the cake :) :?:

eg, for a rough idea..

£ - €
£ - Swiss franc
£ - Krone/Scandinavian countries
£ - East Euro Countries
£ - Morrocan whassname,
£ - Turkish Lira

followed by the rest

Sorry for being picky.

Pete
See less See more
sorry Pete no can do atm, this is all generated by what is called a "feed" and I have no control over it whatsoever.

I will keep looking to see if there is anything out there that allows you a degree of customization
Thanks for trying.

Never mind it still a handy feature :)

Excellent, Just what I need. Heres hoping it keeps going up (a little surge would be most welcome just before we buy though)

Thank You

Andy
