hello all me and my partner have a swift ensign camper
we spent 5 weeks last year isle of wight devon and cornwall then 2 weeks in scotland
we hope to go to ireland this year north and south
we wild camp as we are of limited income and cannot afford campsite fee
any tips for ireland camping?

thank you for your good wishes for a holiday in ireland
i dont understand why you should have been disapointed with the isle of wight i have been many times in the past 15 years its like going home to me : :)

1. Red Funnell - 4 hour delays, m-h's and caravans park all over the place no space at ferry terminal
2. Once on island, rip off parking prices, narrow roads.
3. Terrible Weather !!!!!!!!!!!
4. Can get the van over to France cheaper (pro rata)

the weather cannot be legislated for i was there 2 weeks in june it was HOT
narrow roads well what do you expect on a small island did you do no research before you went

as for the ferry charges i have to agree they are high but the chaos is not always as bad at the treminal and as for me being parked anywhere is that not the fault of the owners

sorry you had a bad experience i was there week before christmas no problems with ferry except they are rebuilding both terminals hoping to accomodate more traffic

its a beautiful island in nice weather try again you may believe me :D
