Such a shame there was no sun, and still isn´t.
This lot put a smile on my face for a few minutes this morning, from a distance I thought there were a few hares chasing amongst the deer until I put the binoculars on them. Something has made them happy today. 8 mins 18 seconds of frolicking

It did indeed make me smile! What a privilege to see that! I've never seen so much activity in a herd. I wonder what the biological reason is for their white rumps - it certainly makes them very obvious targets for hunters.

During the winter months they have a very noticeable large white rump patch
. This is composed of long hairs that can be 'puffed out' to provide a warning signal when the Roe spots danger. The white bottom is used as a beacon for other deer to move out of the area because danger is coming.
