i had a problem uploading my avatar in that i had an error message say it was too wide. after several attempt to resize etc i found the FIX for me. I normally use Firefox as my browser so changed to Internet Explorer uploaded the picture of pegs and bingo problem solved. On going back to Firefox yep pegs is still there. hope this helps somebody else.

I use Firefox here, and have no problems. Maybe you have something turned off (or on even) in Firefox, which may be causing the problem.

I wonder if you were using the default theme at the time, as you can't upload an avatar using the non default theme. (Or couldn't, this might be fixed now).

Nidge i think you are right in that i was not on the default theme so there you are anyone else with this problem can sort it now.
