Not sure if this has been mentioned before and I did not realise until I lived here. Trucks are not allowed to travel on French roads Sunday and Bank Holidays (although lorries carrying fresh food are exempt).
So if you have lots of miles to travel those are good days to choose provided you are well prepared and not going to a major event :!:

I think all trucks should be banned from all the roads in the EU on Sundays. UK Truck drivers work hard enough as it is with a 50hr working week and deserve a rest at weekends.
Ciao tutti, just for the record the same applies in Italy; and very often also the Friday afternoon preceding the Bank Holiday weekend.
