Hi all as I said in another post I was on holiday and had a fuel filter housing unit problem got it sorted with your help now after all the bumping down roads in Ireland I noticed the floor has sunk around an inch and there is a big gap between it and the floor looks like the floor under the van was rotten and with the weight of the leisure battery and something I think has something to do with the heating on that side and a few things we has stirred it's only when we lifted the seat to unload we noticed the damage can any one recommend what I can do please the motorhome is a bessacarr e495

Nice one Merlin.

Are you able to edit the title of this thread to add in something like "Floor coming away" or maybe you could start a new thread so we can follow your progress as I am sure you wouldn't be the only person to experience such problems and it would be a really useful source of info for anyone searching in the future. (y)

Good luck with it btw.
Admin could change it not sure we can edit titles but a new thread called Rotten floor fix might get the attention it needs.

AFAIK since the recent upgrade of MHF the original poster can go back at any time and edit the title. I suggested to Pat-H, trying with what used to be called the “Corna virus” thread and it has now been successfully changed to “Corona virus”, so it looks possible.

It looks like black underseal has been sprayed underneath in that section. That suggests there may have been an issue that was covered over.
clearly the rotten floor wood needs cutting back till sound timber is found.
its possible the side panel is just bonded to the floor (glued) but I might be tempted to bond an aluminium right angle strip to the side skirt that supports the floor so you can put a few screws in through the floor.
have a look where the floor to wall join is good and see if there are ant clues to how its fixed.

I agree with you pat seems like it had been opened before I have gotten all my batons and ply wood and gear I need help with one more thing the plastic case that holds the liesure battery passes through the floor and I don't know how to remove it or if it's glued or how it held to the floor as I need to take it out to put the new floor in can any one help
Hopefully I have posted this in the right place if not you can remove it to were I should post it

Thanks martin
If no visible fixings then likely bonded in place.
I'd cut the floor round the battery and examine it when removed. Not that you have to fix it back the way it was. The weight of the battery holds it down and the lip round the top holds it.

Thanks pat will give it a go if my cables are long enough when I do get it apart I will mount the battery in a box on top of the floor but will keep you updated as I get on with it hopefully the weekend is good weather as I will be working outside
Thanks Martin
