Places never to forget

We have decided we are going to re-visit the gower. (only for a week )
We have not been there for maybe 10 years.
I have closed my eyes and tried to imagine if the roads are as narrow as i remember, do they still play bingo at the brittania inn? can you still walk the beeches and not see a sole? Do you still get the best chips in their skins at the Kings head? Do Whiteford sands woods still fill your nostrils with those wonderful pine smells?
We always felt we were entering somewhere special when going to the Gower and hope that feeling returns.
We have for some reason never visited the Gower in the motorhome this will be put right this June.

Have been there a few times, but only in December - & yes, the beaches & cliff walks are empty and spectacular at that time of year! Had never seen such reflections of the sky on acres of flat, wet sand before.

Not many sites open in the winter - had to get towed off a CL once  , but the Pitton Cross campsite is now open all year & they were re-doing their hardstandings last Dec. V friendly owners - we'll be back again, I'm sure - & maybe in early summer once we're no longer tied to school holidays.

Hope it lives up to your memories - let us know!
Yep, you remember correct . . the roads are narrow !
none of the above, its all a figmont of your imagination,  :lol:how are ya boy .dennis
I shall never forget the Gower, food poisoning at the local pub, an ignorant site warden, paying for the use of showers over and above the most expensive site I had stayed on and bad weather.

Don't sit on the fence Loddy, tell us how it was.

So when will you be going back there then :?:
Hi When based at RAF St Athan in the 70s, we used to go along to the Gower fairly regularly. Beautiful beaches, and good Rock Climbing at 3 Cliffs Bay. Lovely part of the Country. Andy

Hi Dennis

We're doing fine, only problem we're having is with the sites for the gower? Just phone Three cliffs and can only get on from the Sunday so looks like we may have to move from the gower on the weekends.

Anyone been to this site Llanmadoc Camping & Caravan Site?

Hi Loddy
What was the name of the pub?
