Another G recipe on the go, simmering nicely on the hob, super quick to do, it'll go into the slow cooker at some point and be eaten or frozed in the next day or so, not got lamb or goat yet to expensive, goat oddly is half the price on the bone and has much more taste.

Here's another non curry one that we had the other night. Very tasty; easy to prep; quick to cook; low carb; and very scaleable. Have it without bacon and it's veggie too!

Every one of the ingredients below can be scaled up or down to suit so you can play around with this.

Cheesy Bacon Slice

Pack of bacon or 6-8 rashers from the butchers
4 medium sized mushrooms
Bunch of spring onions
4 medium eggs
Handful or two of grated cheese
Dried Parsley
Black pepper to taste

Cut a pack of your favourite bacon into random pieces. I use smoked back and a pair of kitchen scissors. If buying from a butcher get 6-8 rashers depending on thickness. Dry fry in a large frying pan.

Whilst that is cooking chop up 4 or so mushrooms and a bunch of spring onions/scallions/gibbons (or whatever they are called where you live).

Crack 4 eggs into a bowl; add 2 teaspoons of dried parsley; and a good few grinds of black pepper (to taste). Whisk this up and add a handful or two of grated cheese.

When the bacon has cooked and the frying pan is still dryish (supermarket bacon contains water so that needs to be gone) add the mushrooms and spring onions.

Fry up for 5 mins giving it a few stirs. It should be OK without adding any oil but a small amount could be added if you are worried.

Flatten the mixture down and then add the egg/cheese mix on top. Spread it around with a fork. Then I grind a bit more black pepper on.

Pop your grill onto its highest setting to pre heat.

Let the food gently fry for 5-10 mins until the egg base has set. Then pop it under the grill until the cheese has melted and is starting to turn brown.

Serve with whatever you want. Goes well with peas or baked beans and whatever potato product suits you (we don't bother as its quite filling). The above recipe produces 3 large portions or 4 smaller ones when cut. Mrs GMJ has it for lunch the next day and it is lovely hot or cold.

When I used to tell Hans I had nothing for dinner, he would say "Oh good" because then I would come up with something similar. I could make that today, or something similar :).
No spring onions, frozen chives instead.
No fresh mushrooms, I have got a tin of sliced champion so I´ll use some of those
Bacon I have eggs I have Cheese I have and parsley I have frozen or dried, I`ll use the frozen..
I´ll let you know what it taste like later,

My turn :D :D

Curry in the hole last night, sounds unpleasant and doesn't look much better TBH, but the taste is sublime.

The curry was a bit more watery than normal as for the first time I cooked and and ate it the same day, I chopped up a few small potatoes and added them
they tasted nice infused with all the spices and it bulks it out a bit too.

The pud is improving at last, I used sunflower oil instead of olive oil and had the oven at 240c, it's not up to snuff quite yet but is getting there slowly, I'm still of the opinion that the ambient temperature in the kitchen is partly to blame.

it is still 50mm short of the height I used to get.

I also bought some oven gloves so I could get the tin out and back in more quickly to preserve the heat.

Looks good, don`t keep worrying about the look, as long as it tastes good that`s what matters Puddle.

Those oven gloves look good, I`m still using bulky gloves that tend to get in the way, I have looked on my Amazon and just ordered these. Much better that the ones I have, thanks for showing them.

The look isn't important, but the rise is as that's the USP of Yorkshire pudding.

I looked at that type of glove and though the silicone would be good for the heat but maybe too grippy and possibly wash off, mine are made from Aramid fibres and will stay like that.

I found that one in the end and guess what, not available. I don`t think I use mine enough these days to warrant washing them Kev, most of my cooking is done on the hob, in the microwave or in my Optigrill, best of all by somebody else 😂 unfortunately that doesn´t happen very often.

Another thing you could do with your Yorkshire punning is put sliced apple in, I use to do that for Hans as he liked apple pancakes (so do I) make it the same as your toad just put sliced cooking apples in instead, sprinkle a sugar and cinnamon mix on top before you eat it.

Potatoes baked in the microwave I often have with grated cheese and green beans from the freezer also cooked in the microwave or with pickles that's dead simple.

Spaghetti Bolognese also easy.

Liz breaks off the stood up bits and puts treacle on them.

We do have baked spuds now and then, but TBH a bit boring, I have quite good taste buds so they crave flavour, spag bol isn't on my list to do I'm not keen on pasta at all.

We bought these many moons ago from QVC for both indoor, and outdoor for the barbie. I can't remember how much we paid but we certainly have had our moneys worth out of them.

Fry the onion and mushrooms, add all the ingredients and mix together stir in the grated cheese last.
Allow to cool then make the pie, brush the top with milk or egg.
