We have had to change our holiday plans slightly so we have decided to go to Plymouth. We were thinking of using the Riverside site advertised in the mags, but would like to have other options. We need a site close to a regular bus route and we dont need all singing/dancing facilities - as long as we have electric we will be happy. I've looked at the club sites but they seem to be a bit far out (lovely views though) and I'm not sure the buses would be frequent enough. We aim to do the touristy bit plus visiting several elderly relatives scattered about the area.

Does anyone have any recommendations please

I can recommend Whitsandbay Holiday park. Have a look at the website as the location may not suit everyone,as it is over the Tamar in Cornwall.The area it is in is completely unspoiled and has stunning scenery.The site does have a pool,shop & pub/restaurant but is not that commercialised. There is a bus stop at the end of the drive to get into Plymouth,either all the way on the bus,or to Cremyl then by foot ferry.

It has no toilet block, and is about 1 mile from public transport, but the views are lovely and it is close to the Sustrans cycle route. We have stayed there several times, both before catching the ferry and for holiday stays and it comes highly reccomended.
