Hi All

Not one planning, tunnel and first destination then go with the flow.

Off to Chamoniox Mont Blanc as first destination. In the past we have just gone down the well driven route down to Lyon, hang a left and up into the mountains. Dammed expensive but reasonably quick.

Fancy a change with no or little tolls. Any thoughts on the following route which is about 50 miles longer but should be toll free with the exception of the Vignette through Swizerland. Would like to use motorways/duel carridgways.

Across northern France and down to Luxenburg, Mulhouse, Bern and into the Chamoniox Valley via La Tours.

Need to get there as we have two kids with lots of 'are we nearly there yet?' so will do a big hit through the night after a trip through the tunnel at about 20.00 hours.

Hi

For toll free I reckon that is a pretty good route. It might be worth noting that some folk think that going via Brussells is a better way to start the journey as the motorway road surface down to Lille has deteriorated to the point where road noise and rough ride might keep youngsters awake but otherwise a sound route.

Have fun

Ta Croncle

Travelled the route to lille last year so I know about the dirt track! that bit of the route will be early enough not too worry about the noise as it will be drowned out by the dvd players!!!

Regards
