For those of us who have lived a few years and have witnessed passed facts and figures evaporate through the years as we are manipulated through life, this may be of interest. The Society of motor engineers keeping combustion in the conversation, Google SAE in talks to reduce emissions of the internal combustion engine, the tyres on your motor are now under investigation for pollutants which are greater than your exhaust pipe , what's going on ?. Our tea delivery company has changed their fleet to Electric, our man had to use a hairdryer on the windscreen to defrost initially no hot water circulating as in a combustion engine.🤡

Tyres have been a problem for a long time, I think EVs might be a problem for the future, the combustion engine will work fine with hydrogen, the tech is well known so why waste time and lives on EVs.

Agreed. EV's aren't suited to colder climates, there is too much demand on the heating circuit, perfect for ICE, as the heat is a by product, which is greatly appreciated in the winter. ICE cars are 98% (or close to) recyclable by already established infrastructure. There's no established recycling system for lithium batteries yet, and there is a (western world) shortage or rare earth metals with which they make all the electronic components.

Need to be aware that most of these so called experts are wrong, more that they are right.

In the 1960's we were told that we would all be dead by 1980 because of the coming ice age, due to pollution shutting out the suns heat. By the mid 80's this was reversed to we'd all be dead by the turn of the century due to global warming.....

I personally wish they'd stop cutting down the trees and put back the ones they have cut down.

EVs can use the heat from the batteries on some cars, but a lot of earlier EVs earlier ones didn't have a pump fitted.

the only reason EVs are gaining ground is the worlds governments saw them as the way forward, based on not very much info and that was mainly from those with a vested interest, so pretty much zero invested in infrastructure for charging so far, and even less in looking at better alternatives such as Hydrogen ICE vehicles, Trucks will never run on electric, not with out a change in the laws regarding weight, or their carrying capacity will be challenged.

They jumped on the bandwagon I feel, their is a place for small EV vans doing local deliveries, cars for commuting, local buses, but they too are going to be short lived once Hydrogen is properly sorted.

Trouble is that any 'big business' docusoaps, are heavily invested, and distort the facts to suit their own aganda. Can't wait for 'charge queue rage' to rear it's ugly head (if it hasn't already).

I'm not convinced Hydrogen is cost effective yet, least by present methods of creation. The amount of power required to create it is too close, and probably less to what you get back. Current solar by voltaic cells is not practical either, but I firmly believe that Hydrogen IS the way to go. There just MUST be a better way to produce it... Maybe sunny climate countries could produce it, using giant magnifying amplifier arrays, and sell to the more northern and more southern populace.
