Thanks Julie
It was the LNB afterall

All signal and no quality could mean your pointing at the wrong satellite .!
Try a tune on the receiver and see what channels you get to confirm this, my guess is your on 19 east and not 28 Astra... The strong signal can throw you into thinking youve got Astra..

Hi
has the dish ever worked or have you set it up.

If it is just been set up is it pointing in the right direction.

If you have a free sat box it can make it easier as you can find

Astra 1 (19 degrees east of south) which has a very strong signal and once you have that then

finding Astra 2 (27 degrees east of south)

is just a matter of tipping the dish forward and

turning the dish to the east.

It is only 8 degrees east from Astra 1 which is not very much. I

suggest only lowering the arm a little at a time and moving the arm

very slowly using a sat finder.

If you mark to the post on which is mounted when you find Astra 1

Then you can find it again easily.

If it has been set and working before then try borrowing a sat

receiver from a fellow brit near by. This will tell you if it is the

receiver or the dish.

PS the 19, 27 is for the uk it will be a little further east than that in Almeria.

I have just started getting this problem. No previous issues with the system. Am currently on hols in cornwall. Signal strength is 90%, quality 55%, so the picture frequently breaks up, especially when cloudy.

Connections ok, could it be the lnb?

Am using malins suitcase receiver with an AOS 460mm square dish.

Anyone any ideas?
