Ray,

MrsW says it’s not a terrible job and can be quite easy…….

I hope that it goes well, I suspect your free fall skydiving days might be limited, but at least you will be able to go through an airport scanner without setting the alarms off……
Thanks Dave.
Things have got somewhat worse today. The third opp on my shin at the same spot is now so close to the bone and after a week is now weeping and blistering and no sign of any healing.
The nurse sent a pic to the surgeon of the large swelling in the groin and he basically came back with it's a ganglion and it just fluid.

So we await results as the nurse is quite concerned.
It's just at this time sfr have decided to cut off my 4G loan box as they say the line problem is fixed. It's not and apart from very slow 2mbps internet it's intermittent. Just what is needed in todays world.

Your internet sounds as outstanding as ours…. We are paying for 4G via Orange.fr. Most we get is 3G and often not even 0.5G. Our mobile phones are also with Orange anonly mine works at the house, even then it is best if we are in the garden - great if a call is coming in, wait outside in the rain which cuts the signal still further…..

We now have fibre optic lines near us, but not that near as “we don’t have a fixed phone line”.

No, of course we don’t because you (Orange) cut it off three years ago saying “it was too unstable” even though it had worked perfectly for 11 years using U.K. Telecom.

What a frigging disaster Communications are in France……

I hope your leg does start to show signs of granulation, you need it to heal from the bottom otherwise it will simply form an ulcer. No easy way that I know of to guarantee that, unless you happen to be able to find some stem cells and implant those……. No ? I thought not, they are not things we tend to keep in the batrooom cabinet….

Thanks Dave.
There are times I wonder about life in France but usually it's sfr problems.
But have to take the current (cut off) 4G box back to Cherbourg and try and change for another one to carry on with 4G internet. 90km round trip and pointless discussions with their shop. Nurse coming in tomorrow am to see what she can do with the wounds as she has sent pics to the surgeon of the groin but he just says ganglions but the shin is something else and might call the doc. But we have to go to Cherbourg midday and then collect the new car pm. after getting the insurance. So a frantic day all round with weeping wounds.

Thanks Ray, do keep us informed how tomorrow goes and whether your 90km excursion actually gets you anywhere.

It has been suggested that we try Free as their packages are good and their Customer Service better than most. Our daughter had a new phone line put in by them on Thursday and the internet box arrived Friday - good service.

BUT there was a wiring fault on the phone line - “they will sort it out”. I will keep you updated….

Oh no Ray. Your medical team have been very much on the ball so far; I hope that continues.

Do the French companies respond to 'vulnerable'? You could plead you need the box to keep on working because you need to be able to contact the consultant about your open wound - you could try putting your leg up on his desk to illustrate!

Not sure Jean. My French neighbour called sfr on my behalf and argued my case for some time but you only deal with a call centre plank. At least he has manage to get a so called engineer to come on Friday to check the line at our house. It's a start.

Gosh I hope u both improve very soon. Been wondering about French medical care now I'm registered.. bit of curate's egg methinks. Moving closer towards Penquin's turf at monthend. Just over the border into Charente-Maritime near... nowhere in particular except the N10. OK 25km south of Barbezieux.
Nice to see sewdew posting again... hello!!!
