Some of you might be aware of our plans to pick up our motorhome in the Uk , Tour Europa for a year and then ship the vehicle down under. Because of Covid 19 we obviously had to cancel all of our plans and nobody knows when the borders are opening again. Because of all this we have applied and been given an personal import Permit and are now free to ship the car to Brisbane. We are of course a bit sad because we we are unable to tour Europe but this is all in all a good outcome.
Does anyone have a recommendation regarding a shipping company. So far I have estimates from caravan shippers And Sea-Bridge which are almost identical. Is there any other company I should approach?

The only people we used across the Atlantic was Wallenius Shipping Lines. But they do ship round the world. Might be worth asking direct.

Contact a company that specialises in shipping via container.

it’s surprisingly inexpensive to ship a whole container.
I think the average time is about 6 weeks from U.K. to Oz.

I think you will have trouble getting any motorhome in a container Andy other than a Panel Van conversion. Ro-Ro are more expensive but can accommodate the width.

That’s quite correct, our vehicle is to big for a container. After I received the permit I thought it is now pretty easy to get it shipped. Far from it
Some company’s like seabridge telling me that at the moment it is not possible. I still waiting for other shipping lines estimates.
