I read that Swiss sites use a different hook-up plug to the french 2-pin usual variety. Is this fact and are they easily available to buy on sites?
Also are there problems at the border regarding weight and how should i overcome them. Forewarned is forearmed!

Hi Elbino,

Yes you do need a different hook-up plug, most campsites have them at reception for you to hire out, all you'll need to do is leave a refundable deposit. We bought one from a Co-op superstore in Switzerland which changed our French adapter to a Swiss plug.

When we got to the border, we were asked to pull over whilst the police checked all our paperwork for the motorhome. Thankfully we had the vechicle registration document, which was all he needed.

It cost around 37 swiss francs for one month.

Hope this helps.
