Tick over speed

Just recently the idle speed on my Fiat 2.8jtd has increased to 1500rpm & intermittently drops to 1000or: then back again any one have any ideas, just been re-mapped but fault was there before so I don't think its the ECU

Tick Over Speed

Andy i have the same problem with my 2.8jtd, i was told it was the throttle potentiometer. I was quoted £80 for the part plus fitting cost about £130 in total. Does anyone know what the job entails, is it a DIY job

" is it a DIY job" Probably YES but will it cure the fault? Could it be a sensor somewhere?

3 x bolts 1x plug +10 minuets.
