Tow bar, help needed.

Hi there

We have bought a new Dethleff A7871 SG for delivery on June 30th form Lowdham Leisure.

We will need a tow bar as I have a classic car that I race and also jet ski etc.

Can anyone advise of a company that can supply the fabricated parts as my friend has a tow bar company and he can fit the parts no problem.

Thanks in advance.

Aidan.

Amitage Trailers in Ferrybridge, Yorkshire will be able to do that for you

really good service and there are campsites nearby if its a long drive (beautiful part of the UK to visit) they can fabricate and if you want them to - (and in my opinion its better to have one place do the complete job) fit/spray etc all in same day usually.

They fitted mine for me and really impressed with the service.

Defo get a towbar company to make one - they have to be tested for weight etc and have that stamped on them! Found this out when a friends van fell foul of VOSA as the towbar was a fabricated one! It was done by a proper engineering company, but hadn't had the official testing and certification.

Another option would be safe-t-bar, They do them for motorhomes, and can come with towing versions, so will be official. Also handy for protecting your rear elevation should some person nudge you at the lights!

Wassup? Not a lot, Dave ... sorry if I wasn't clear but my post was directed to Aidan. He asked me to PM him and I have - three times - but he isn't opening 'em ! Judging from his latest post his objectives may have changed ......
I had mine made by local towbar company, most should be able to do it. Incidently the comment about an official stamp is simple not correct, this only applies to vehicles that have to have a Europeon type approval which m/h,s do not need.
