Morning

Our last full day on this site today. We'll have a bike ride this morning and then this afternoon I'll start breaking camp.

We took ourselves off to Wells Next the Sea and walked from there to Holkam yesterday. Well I walked and Chris rode his scooter. Hardly anyone there and it was such a lovely, sunny day.

Electrician came today to quote for wiring up the garage. Chris disgraced himself by vomiting all over the kitchen floor while the poor chap looked on helplessly.

Is there a reason for that Pat?

We think it was some sort of 24 hour bug. He felt really cold just after getting up. He had got up quite quickly because the electrician was coming but don't think that was the cause. He vomited once more after that first bout. He has slept in the chair for most of the day and has now eaten some rice pudding :)

Morning

We had a good day yesterday. We went for a bike ride in the morning and then after taking down the awning in the afternoon, we sat outside as it was noticeably the warmest day of our trip so far.

Today we are on the move up the coast to Javea. We'll stop at a supermarket en route first to stock up and will aim to get to site early afternoon.

When I see you are going to stock up it makes me think you must be having a lot of parties, or you eat a lot 🐷. 😆

if the rain carries on we ´ll be stuck in the house again. I ´ll write another email to Auto-Trail (any tips on wording will be gratefully received).

Try "where's my feckin' stuff."
Unfortunately FB Autotrail user groups regularly report the much used Covid impact on their supply chain excuse for poor service. So much so that delivery of pre-ordered new vehicles miss their original delivery dates by many months. it’s also very obvious they don’t carry a vast spare parts stock holding.

I even read on Twitter that the large factory making base Fiat and Citroen type vehicles habe gone onto short time working due to a lack of electronic chips.

Keep plugging away Jan, we all feel your pain I’m sure.

Nothing planned for today. Might go and sort out a problem with some trousers that Chris ordered at Next. They have never phoned/texted that they have arrived and we paid for them before Christmas.
Thomas, the sixteen year old, rescue cat and I will continue to do battle over him stealing his food from the dining room table where it is kept pending his next meal serving. He ate about four days worth of his dry food the other day so I removed it and then he stole the wet food that was up there out of Georgia's reach! As he is inclined to be on the, ahem, "plump" side I will be rationing his meals for a couple of days. That'll larn 'im!

Morning

We are now on site in Javea after an uneventful run here yesterday. We stopped at the Lidl in Los Alacazares on the way as it has superb parking for large vehicles. Jan: "Stocking up" in this sense means buying heavy stuff that saves us (me) having to carry it when we go food shopping on foot: milk, beer, tonics etc.

We had a result when leaving our site though as the 10 nights worked out at just under €20 a night including electricity. Looking at my bill later it seems that they didn't charge us for being on the larger pitch and also somehow we only used less than 4Kwh electricity a day!

We stopped en route to exchange our gas cylinder for a full one at a Repsol garage. No bad at €15.54 for the swap. We had had a brand new one to start the trip which lasted 10 days for all our water and space heating and still wasn't fully empty when I swapped it. The new site doesn't have gas cylinders to exchange hence us stopping en route.

We'll have a bimble around today to orientate I think.

Another quiet day today. Chris feels better so lets hope it was just a 24 hour bug. One thing that did cross our minds is that during Georgia's cage rest I put her on a raw food diet. It produces far less "waste" and meant that she could hold on longer between garden visits. Chris has taken over giving her breakfast and we wonder if he became contaminated?

Just had a phone call from the people who installed our solar panels. The ones we have been battling for months to investigate why our usage is so high when we had the summer of all summers and a not too bad autumn and winter as far as sunshine goes. It turns out they think the inverter that collects the solar output is "faulty". They "say" that the one we have is discontinued so they will upgrade it a bigger one. In order to do this they will need to re arrange the wiring on the roof. Then there has to be a re jigging of the three phase supply because, it seems, a lot of our solar power is going out straight to the grid before we can benefit from it in the house! This has been our argument all along :(

Feeling triumphant but peed off at the same time!

Morning

We had a nice day yesterday havng a bimble up to the Old Town in Javea. It's around a 15min walk for most folks so 25 for us. Very pleasant it is as well. It was market day so I bought a new fleece as well as some bread for our lunch and tea. The afternoon was then spent out in the sun as it's noticeably warmer here than at our last place. We are getting what we came away for, at last!

Today we plan a bike ride down to the Marina and then along the coast to the beach area.

I have just tried logging in using the site wifi as I scored for a free day's trial. I can't do it on my laptop as it doesn't ask me for the user ID and password so hence won't log in. When I try it on my phone it does ask and after entering them, it logs in. Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the laptop to log in? ta
