I've got to try to remember to make a dentists appointment before my pension credits stop.

Morning

It's our last day on this site today so the hire car will be going back first thing. We'll then wander into the local town for coffee and a last cannolo before coming back to base to break camp.

The weather in Italy made the national news here Graham :( Hope it did not mar you enjoyment too much?

I have a reflexology appointment this morning. No workers on site while we wait for the scaffold to turn up. Then I might grapple with the VAT invoices.

It has knocked us a about a bit in terms of trip planning/days out etc. I'd say we have had 11 days out of 20 when it has rained here, mostly showers but a few days constant so no outdoor stuff possible really.

Morning

We are on the move this morning to a site a couple of hours east of here which is closer to the port. Originally we planned just to stay there 1 night but have cut where are now short by a night so we shall stay there two nights, just to get a change of scenery.
Tree surgeon coming today to take down three huge sycamores that are shading the pond and dropping leaves into it. First they say that they don't want the wood and that it is a nuisance. Our reply was that they can just leave it and we will deal with it. Now it turns out that they can take the wood away after all!
Morning

We'll hopefully have a bimble into the local town this morning and fingers crossed that the weather holds.

We have been having the most horrendous storm for the last few hours. Probably the windiest conditions we have ever been away in, in our MH. It's knocked the power and water out to the shower block so I had my shower on board. Thankfully the EHU is still working on the pitch but I reckon there will be some damage. I am thankful as well that I didn't wind out the canopy yesterday when we got here. Our chairs and table are flattened and even the whirligig clothes line has been uprooted and that had 3 rock pegs holding it down!

Crikey Graham! Hope it all improves soon.

Nothing much on today. Weather is fine so might get outside after dog walking but those VAT invoices will not sort themselves.
There's no way Mrs G could have walked in this so I went up into the town on my own to get some bread for my lunch. Looks like a day at base today then. The roads are covered in tree detritus and it looks like there has been some damage to at least 1 restaurant in the town.

It's not raining at the mo and is unusually warm despite the very brisk wind gusts.
We cross on the ferry tomorrow so lets hope it settles down by then

Weird weather! After having the strongest winds we had ever experienced since we have been motorhoming, at 10.45 the wind just stopped. It didn't slacken off, it was as if it was switched off. The calm was eerie! Then a few hours later we got thunder storms and heavy rain!

Thankfully its all calm now so fingers crossed for later. We cross to the mainland today and start our journey back up the leg of Italy.

Hope all goes well Graham.

Beautiful day here again. It is such a shame that the landscapers are not coming until August because it would be lovely to be able to spend more time in the garden. Saw some swifts/swallows/house martins yesterday and there is a blue tit feeding young in an old piece of metal pipe that is leaning up against our compost heaps. Chris has just expressed his annoyance as the pipe was destined to go to the scrap yard this week.

Morning

We had a calm crossing thankfully and a clear run up to our site for the night until we reached the town in question. There were a number of streets closed in the town for some reason and as such our sat nav struggled to get us to site. It was a nightmare scenario really given the size of the MH and no local knowledge plus narrow streets and a hilly area.. We got some directions in Italian off a helpful chap which were of limited use. It took us an hour to get to the site after we had reached the town.

Today we have a long drive up the leg of Italy.

Early appointment with an animal chiropractor for Georgia. She still hops on her hind leg in spite of surgery. Vet, physiotherapist and hydrotherapist have all tried everything they know so thought I would give this other treatment option a try. She could not find anything definite to work on but agreed with me that a dog would not hop on its hind leg for no good reason! We decided to go back the vet for pain relief, even though it has not worked in the past, and see if he has any more ideas.
After emptying one arm of blood to send off to the labs they drilled another hole to fill it up again with 'serum' for the IRM today.
Repeat process tomorrow and hope they can use the other arm.

Ray.
Blimey you'd think they would reverse that and do the IRM first before draining you out!
Ha ha Pat. I don't think it's monitored like that as after the Nuclear infusion tomorrow for the PET scan, it's an Immune Therapy infusion wednesday and more stuff like chemo pumped in via an arm.
