Aside from the news, are you a reader? Avid or occasional?

I have just finished the new John Grisham novel - The Judges List - and it was excellent; well up to his normal standard. I will need to start a new afternoon book today.

At night I am currently reading Ian Fleming's Dr No on my kindle. Always a good read the Bond books (Im trying to do them in order) and around 200 pages too. How they manage to make 3 hour films out of them I don't know!

What about you folks?

Great insight and lots of historical gems that put today's lot in context.

I am reading The Welsh Girl by Peter Ho Davies as my afternoon book at the mo. In fact I've nearly finished it. It's set during the second world war and covers the internment and interrogation of Hess plus the establishment of a POW camp in north Wales and its effects on the locality. It's an engrossing read.
Terry recommenden Alastair Campbell's But What Can I do. I'm listening, but I count that.

He spends a chapter on The Sovereign Individual. I knew a bit about it but he has explained a lot more. I may have to read it just to take a bit more offence at the attitude of the sovereign individual.

I finished Bad Blood - the attitude of Elizabeth Holmes seemed to me to mirror that of BJ and Brexiteers. In fact, at one meeting with her employees she said it was a religion and if they didn't believe they should leave. Also the attitude that if I believe it and say it, that's it done: a very (recent) Conservative attitude.

I'm now reading I am Malala - an amazingly mature young lady. Tho TBH, she may not have been all that likeable at school! 😂
