It's ever so easy, and if you are not qualified or don't feel confident of your skills, just get a local gas fitter to run a check on the installation after you've done all the expensive work.
It's fiddly and time consuming, which is why it costs a bit to have it done, but if you can tighten a nut against an olive you can do it yourself.
Do a search. There was an extensive thread on just this question a few weeks ago.

Don't take any risks though. A quick check by your local gas man on his way home will only cost a few quid, and better to be safe than sorry! :roll:
