I know what you mean.

The missus managed to get this one from the front of the canoe, I was rollicking her at the time for not paddling 8)

Nowhere near as good as those first two though.

A bit of cropping may do wonders peejay.
I cropped a couple of heads off mine. Taken on a boat trip in petite carmarge last summer.

Normally Heron's are not called Geoffrey. But hey! Why not I ask myself?
Dave

thats really good :D :D perhaps as you say, right place at the right time.

but the heron, its like 2 photographs have been superimposed - look at the back ground - its a photo in its own right

Pusser

you made me spill half a glass of wine on the keyboard - bu**er

catching birds in flight is extremely difficult - I know, I try often, so the parrot and swan - first class
Try enlarging heron Geof, I can`t see a reflection

Geof have you looked at post old school photo`s on next page.

a lot will be right time right place, i've got a couple of books in the van that give tips and pointers on how to take good photos, and get the most from the camera.

i'll take hundreds of photos in one sitting and then spend more time deleting the naff ones at the end of the day, it's more of a hit and miss approach, but it gets some resonable results, click enough and you'll get something worth showing!
you little monkey, you
Here's one I would have loved to have taken, but that honour goes to my wife Mrs Zozzer. It was taken at the Bellymack Feeding Station in Dumfries and Galloway, and resulted in her winning a photo comp last year on our towns local community forum.

Wrong angle, too low I think Dave, or not far enough away.

Kev.
The heron picture looks OK to me. The highest point of the background reflected is virtually the same height as the underside of the Heron. The Heron is too near to the camera to reflect on the water.
Your link doesn't seem to work
Sorry Ted edited and it does now
Cheers
