Would I get such a good quality van if I took up solo in later years for similar money as sold.We are still loathe to sell and are pursuing ideas until we have to bite the bullet.
Even considered only using it for day trips.
We decided that a level floor is a must, ours has a few different levels, albeit only 2/3 inches down from Cab to lounge and from dinette to main floor.
A wider body would give us more room between the 2 single beds, and the step at the door could be a problem at sometime, but a cover could be fitted.
Being no longer slim any more, getting from the captains seat in the cab passenger side past the table is difficult for one of us0:)0:), plus the step.
We would need a large bathroom though.
I am restricted to 3500kg but have plenty of room to park at home.

"Would I get such a good quality van if I took up solo in later years for similar money as sold." - I'm not quite sure what you're asking here Cabby.

But it's good to see you're thinking of ways to continue with motorhoming, working round your problems.

Neither my present van nor my new one would fit the bill so I can't help you with ideas I'm afraid, but good luck with the investigation.

I wish I could help here, but I'm stumped for now Phil.

Phil

The biggest problem in my view is the fact that a panel van is internally narrower than a coach built MH so "getting around" inside might prove "testing"???

But why is the N&B as cheap as chips?? They normally fetch pretty serious money, the other thing to consider is driving licence category, I assume you are OK for over 3500kg ?

It is a 1999 N& B 59s,3400kg. £15k over in Dartford Kent, rear kitchen and bathroom. Motorhome depot unfortunately though. On eBay.It looks all on one level floor and has wide through way and a settee along side in case she needs to sit on the way to and from bathroom, I can pinch a Sainsbury's trolly for a wheelchair inside.he he.
Anyone out that way at all.

If it was a year newer, I'd a gree, but it will have the old 2.8 iDTI setup, and very noisy and agricultural to drive Phil after driving newer stuff, but I don;t see how you'd create the space unless you took out the dinette, & swung the two benches around to match the opposite side, a good joiner & some new floor covering might be all you'd need.

Yes thats the one Kev, I thought maybe turn the dinette into a 2 person seating area, either making them singles, or with slide outs to make it into a 4 seat dinette when needed. your opinion please. But I am not sure if the floor is raised in that area. This would allow passage to the bathroom which has the toilet in the right way round for us.Would also need to know the width across dinette to see if it would make a bed for a 5ft person.

I was going to do similar in the CI 141 Riviera last year, easy enough task, but we decided to flog it instead.

As for having a dinette, why bother if you have two bench seats just put the table between them, job done.

You need to know where the fresh tank is for any seat mods too, not insurmountable, but more work, moving pipes etc.

Looks a decent job, did you do it or find a company? if the latter, who did you use?

Looking at the last picture it looks like that was retained, but I did see a hab door leaning against a wall in the unit so maybe a wider one was fitted, but probably in the same place, or you'd need a complete new side to lose the hole.
