This is a question that has had me thinking as well.
I have used the mobile to the laptop for some time but the speed and cost is becomming more and more of an issue.
Does anyone know if any mh sites have wi-fi connection available?
I am fairly sure any site that does supply wi-fi would become very popular.
It must be the way forward, surely. I would be happy to pay a bit extra each night to get the improved speed and availability.

I feel a campaign coming on.
Anyone want to join in? :?

Hi everyone, for those of you that are using your mobiles, what sort of cost are we talking about?
I would like to be able to use the internet when I am travelling but have always thought it would be really expensive.

:D Hi ralph52. I use the Mobile all the time I am travelling, both here and in Spain (and even the rest of Europe if need be). I mainly use it to access emails and mainly at off-peak times. My mobile is Pay-As-You-Go. I have a Sim chip for here in the UK and another for use in Spain. All the calls are made to a local classed phone number. I spend around £10 to £15 while I am here and around £20 while I am Spain for the 6 to 8 months I am there. Hope this helps? :D

mobile phone internet access

If you use a mobile/laptop for internet access in Spain then you can use a local spanish phone number if you sign up to www.gonuts4free.com I had no problem last January with this. It's a lot cheaper than dialling home to connect.
Pay As You Go in Spain have up to 3 different tarrifs, so make sure you select the best for you and your internet connection time. I used an Amena sim which was the dearest of the 3 providers. I think movistar is the cheapest. :D

Wifi Access

I use Wifi in hotels, currently on grand tour of Europe, now in Croatia.I dress up smart and business like and call into any of the large hotel chains-Sheraton,Hilton etc. Sit in the bar and ask for Wifi access you may have to pay for this and they will then give you a password.
Look at T-Mobile for locations and also Boingo (you download a location database with them) cover a good part of Europe.
Search on net too for each country. I am currently sat in a motorway service area outside of Rijecka using the tourist informations Wifi spot. All tourist information offices should be able to point you in the right direction too.
Hope this helps

I mentioned that it was classed as a local phone call. I have used Oriolnet for the last 4 years, but found out about Gonuts4free.com last August and have been using that as well as Oriolnet. We have the Vodaphone Sim chip here and the Movistar Sim chip in Spain. We have used both Sim chips in France, Germany and Holland in an emergency or just to send and recieve emails. :D

WiFi is wireless, so unless it is encoded (usually not) it is not that secure.
Just the same as mobile phones really, if you have a scanner and tune in to the right frequency you can hear phone conversations or in the case of computers if you have the right equipment you can capture the traffic and decode it.

The beauty of WiFi is that it's short range so relatively OK.

Hope this helps

Just a partial answer.
I have checked France in the Camping Cheque site book and there is currently only one listed, namely Le Paradis in the Dordogne.
