Hello. Love the new forum by the way!.

Does anyone know a good wild spot in wales, as I have a week to spare in June and would like a few nights off main sites wild camping. Ive already booked 5 nights on a CC and C, but would like to fill in the rest of the week off site.

Thanks all for a great forum.

llandudno prom near the toilets east end opposite field.
marine drive round the great orme head in llandudno. a few places suitable for overnighting along this road and a big car park on the top [never actually used this for overnighting]
llandulas beach off the a55 between abergele and colwyn bay
rhyl prom west end [probably noisy at weekend]
caernarfon ; near safeway. a road to the marina area and car parks but near new building there is a road used only for parking, doesn't go anywhere. i have used it a few times
barmouth seafront £2 charge applies. use either end
car park opposite the police stn in aberystwyth

Hi Andrew

Another nice spot is the Forestry Commission picnic area at Llantwryst near to Betws y coed. There are 3 parking area, but only one has a gate on it. Lots of mountain bikers and walkers during the day, but completely peaceful at night.

If you are planning on heading up Snowdon, you can park in Pen y pass car park. Slopes quite a bit and lots of comings and goings during the night (only other walkers etc), but it makes for a great early start ahead of the crowds.
