My issue with Apple is that you are tied to them to fix issues, at least with Linux if you have a hardware failure you can choose who repairs it, not so Apple, but for linux/unix software issues you are very much on your own unless you have friends who can help, if not it has to be done online. I'm not knocking any of them, but the support is very focussed, whereas a std windows matchine can be fixed anywhere and apart from specialist programs they are widely understood.

We are from a generation that appreciated the cost of things and tend to treasure them more, you never see older people with phones in their back pocket for instance, I tend to look at the price of things in shops and think it would cost an hour and a halfs wages to buy that and level it where it is more often than not, we turn lights off and shut doors, don't heat rooms no one uses, put a jumper on rather than turn up the heating, too soft young people these days.

Odd mine just sorts itself out Ray apps n all, numbers are stored on the SIM takes about an hour and I'm up and running as before, it does help if you are running google chrome though.

Yes, I've never had to use it as I have had Gmail since the early noughties, I also have Yahoo mail, but only use that if I don't want spam emails from whomever I contact with it.

Is there a way to stop win 11 from being installed and keep the security updates within win 10?

I have no problem going to Win11, but not until it's properly sorted, no doubt it'll be twice the size of Win 10 to include all kinds of crap I'll never need or use.

From my own point of view, there was a load of fuss when we went to Win 10, and to be honest, I've not really had any problems with it, I'm not really using my puter any different than before, no new software, it just works as it ever did, so not expecting Win 11 to be that different for me, but I feel there ought to be a simplified version available to people who are low users.

It should ask you if you want to do it but of course it can be done by accident if your not careful. It's easy to roll back though as long as you do it within two weeks I think. As far as I've looked there is no tool to block it like there was with 7 to 10.

Did you try choose another app or search Microsoft store too Ray.
