Fri night is still Live Music Night. Very good atmophere, good fun. Food good, wine expensive. Beach is a gem, especially for the many dog owners who use it. Toilets in PH. A good site to stay and walk the beaches and fotpaths.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay, arrived fri at about 8.00pm, just pulled up into small grass area, bit unlevel, went into pub, live music on friday nights so was very busy, but good atmosphere, had a pool table so that was good. Lots to offer on the menu and at a good price to, but as our 1st trip away i wanted to cook, but what i did see of it looked very good, did give in to dessert on sat night, fantastic. Electric hook up, water tap and waste. right near the beach and the power station (no noise from it though), a bit of road noise early morning and sea gulls, so just stuck a finger in my ear. good location for a quick get away as the beach will be lovely in the summer, it goes for miles in either direction. £12.00 for the night so good value.

Vulcan Arms Review

CC Certified
Five pitches.
Elec hookup for all, no extra charge.
Water & Waste disposal adjacent Ė (There may be a toilet Ė not sure.)

Open all year Ė prebook esp in summer.
Meals in the Pub.

WHEN I Rang to enquire about availability of a pitch, I was a bit vague as the weather forecast was not great & my wife cannot 'do bad weather', landlord was a bit short. landlady was pretty good.
I received a rather abrupt reception when announcing our arrival early Fri PM . Landlord was rather preoccupied with setting up for the band's regular Fri Nite Gig. He is guitarist.
Pitch is not entirely level, so ramps required for MoHos. Pretty small area overall but not crowded. Has a steepish ramp up if pulling a van and not a lot of room for maneuvering

Excellent location & we can understand summertime popularity.
Itís a quick walk to the sandy beach, and you can go for miles either way.
Lots of grassy areas off the beach & boardwalks. Fishing boats add
seaside ambience.
Lots of good cycling/walking inland too.
Bit of road noise at night, but really not bad. Didnít notice
shift-change from Sizewell, which is on the other side of the village.

We were there for a good Jan Easterly, but well sheltered. There is no
shade for summer tho.
Fresh fish can be bought in the village. Locals very friendly in winter.

Fri Nites is LIVE MUSIC with a lot of participatory locals for the gig. Age no limit. There is a big dining area, but try to get in early & around the bar.
Food good, beer OK.
Controlled dogs & children seem to be welcome.
All in all, a great location, but not a lot of warmth from landlord/lady which is a shame. Maybe itís me.

Met people staying here when we visited the pub, brilliant food, (shush ladies the chappies cooking was the bees knees, very impressed. The couple staying on the cl have been coming here for years. I reckon the beach is closer, 5 mins walk, and sizewell 10mins, we were at the campsite 5 mins along beach Cliff house, see review been told its best to book this cl for busy times, there were spaces when we went past tho. No public transport, tho coastal bus can be phoned 2 days inadvance in high season. We walked into Leiston (phew-) £3 taxi back cos we had shopping.
