I always assumed (but never used) that if you put the key to "BATT" pressed the red button and removed the key, you had side lights when parked, maybe with the indicators on on one side.

Bezel is marked differently, (no clue how old your van is 07 to 16?) but if you go to the van and try it will confirm or deny my view on it

I don't think it would say 'BATT' if it was for sidelights.

Possibly not, we'll have to wait and see, TBH, I didn't know it said anything, just a common function.

Cross purposes here I think Chris, I'll wait and see what happens when you do as I suggested before commenting further.

Turn key fully anti clockwise to 'BATT' position, press red tab, remove key, no sidelights and no power to anything (battery isolated).

Ah well you know now if it had been as I thought possible, you would have need to move the indicator stalk to the side you wanted the lights too.
