Hi all

Well we finally did it!

Set off on 4 Sept, done the coast of Ireland and arrived in France today.
If you'd like to check out the blog:

Hope to see some of you out there...

Hi Catherine and Chris

Well done on making that break. Lovely looking blog, by the way. Love the map at the end of blog 4 - how did you do that?

And who's the photographer? There are some stunning shots hidden away on there.

I'll read more of the text tomorrow.

Gerald (also on Mac  )

Love the look of your blog - very classy. Great name and fab pictures. I'm envious as it's just the sort of thing I want to produce. I've saved it and will follow your progress as we are planning our full-timing trip to start next Easter.

We have no van yet, but a trip to Germany in Feb should sort that out. A panel van conversion is looking to be our choice at the moment, though after a while of being cramped in with the collie we might regret that!

We will only go to countries on the dog passport route, but may well pass you some time.

Laughed at your FAQs. Mostly people seem to be saying to us "go for it", but a few obviously think we're mad, especially with having no answer to what we'll do when we return. We're both chucking jobs in. Hubby actually took voluntary redundancy from last Thursday, but is being taken back on contracting for 2 months (IT). I now have a term and a half to teach and then that's it. Whoopie!

Hope everything goes smoothly on your trip.

Good luck - Lesley

Hi, thanks for the replies. I'm no techie but I create the blog using i-web on my macbook, it's dead easy, just like doing powerpoint.

Chris did the map by nicking a map off the web and using "Paintbrush" to literally draw in the route, save as a jpeg, et voila!

Re panel vans - this was our first thought. We would really suggest hiring one first if you haven't already. If we were in a panelvan now I think we would be going nuts. The extra storage space and height and width in a coachbuilt makes all the difference when full-timing but each to their own....good luck whatever you decide...
