Hi to everyone. I want to introduce myself a bit, my name is Nicole and I come from Prague in Czech Republic. Me and my husband Steven, we both discovered our immense passion for motorhomes 3 years ago, unfortunately we do not own one, we just rent it regularly each year.
Although it was always my dream to have one (I must admit it was originally a dream of my father who made me being interested in motorhomes since I was born) we don't have many opportunities to travel like this so it wouldn't be reasonable to spend so much money for a motorhome that will be almost the whole year parked in our garden...that would be a very sad look.
So we rent it for two weeks every year and thanks to this we experience something amazing that helps us survive for the rest of the year :).
I know that it's a bit different from all of you who are proud owners but I hope we could be a part of the community here as well and share everything.
The reason why I decided to register here was that right now we are in the middle of planning our trip that starts withing two weeks and we want to make a stop in Genoa/Italy. As I am an extreme perfectionist, I can't leave for a motorhome holiday without having a detailled plan of everything include five other alternatives, I've spent three days searching of parking possibilities for motorhomes of 7 and more metres lenght, in Genoa with almost no results. I noticed that here in the forum there were some discussions about it, started by someone called hannah, but as I understood, the solution was not published or at least, I haven't found it. To make it short...I got a summary of camping and parking possibilities updated in april 2012 directly from info center Genoa and I thought it would be useful for others who plan to go there too, so I registered here and I'd like to publish it in the relevant topic.

So best regards from Prague and my big thank you to all contributors in this website, it's one of the most useful forums on the internet. Love it!!!

Nicole and Steven

PS: Please excuse my english, I am not a native speaker but hope it's comprehensible to all.

Welcome (from not far away - Katowice, Poland)

I am English and can tell you that your English is excellent, so no need to apologise!

I am pleased you find MHF useful but to get the most out of it one needs to be a Subscription Member. It is not expensive - 12 pounds. I am not sure how you could pay. If you need help put a post on here and somebody will give an answer.

Good luck with your trip.

Hello Lachicachecca,

Welcome to MHF. I hope your navigation is better than mine as I took a wrong turning in Genoa and became hopelessly lost amongst the various high level Autostradas.

I have checked my Guida Camper Aree di Sosta and it only shows one motorhome site in the area. It is "Campeggio Genova Est Di Butera G. & C." in Via Guglielmo Marconi, Bogliasco, being about 9km east of Genoa.

They have a website with a contact phone number, together with photos, one of which shows the small camper sosta being used:

I have not stayed there myself, so cannot personally recommend it.
