Does anyone have one of these?
After 20 years of having to open the window while cooking, talking about having an extractor fan installed, even bought one and then sold it.
Now I need a new hob because the one I have decided some time back it doesn´t like having even a drop of water on it , (it switches off and all lights flash) So I am thinking of having something like the one below.
Adverts are all very well, but to know someone who has one who can comment on how good or bad they are is the best advert.
This particular one does not need a hole in the outside wall to vent, I would like that because my kitchen is at the front of the house, it would not look good with a venting hole in it.
This one is very expensive, but as it needs no hood, no messy installing of an outside fan it is probably cheaper than having an overhead fan.

Are you going to use the van often enough to warrant this Jan?

This doesn’t make as much noise I don’t think Pat, but getting the steam and smell out of the kitchen is why I would like one. I cook my main meal at lunch time, but when I have company they always eat in the evening, I expect it’s because that is what they are used to when working all day.

If it's the recirculating one (which it must be cos the other style requires an external vent) then it filters the air n pushes it into the space behind the cupboards.

I don't think I'd trust the filtering to remove all the vapour n that would build up a nasty situation out of sight.

We have a traditional one that vents outside. It is significantly better than the new AEG one we installed in our last place.

I also open the window when cooking as a matter of course, however I think I'll probably be able to get away with not doing so on the worst/windiest winter days with the new one.

I have no knowledge of the one you linked to Jan.

The trouble with opening windows when it is dark, little buzzers come in. I don´t have that trouble because I mostly cook in daylight hours, but my visitors always want to cook in the evening. Where I have the oven and Airfryer there´s a fly screen.
I am not surprised you don´t know the one in my link Graham, I think it must be a German firm because even though its run by electricity the firm is called Gasland 🙅‍♀️
I must have a replacement hob before this one packs up completely.
There is also the same thing with a hole in the wall to let the steam and smell outside.

I have read about them on line but I have no personal knowledge of them.

When cooking steam automatically rises, this gadget must have an exceptionally high suction and filter system to suck the steam downwards into a cupboard and vent it into the kitchen onto the floor.

GASLAND IH604BFRB 60 cm Autonomous Induction Hob with Integrated Extractor Hood, 4 Zone Installation Induction Hobs with Stainless Steel Frame, PowerBoost Faster Cooking, 7400 W (without Grill Plate)

Am I right in reading that it is 7400 watts, i.e. 30 amps? Definitely a No Go as far as I am concerned, there is a lot of questions to be answered.

That´s why I am asking Drew, I have no idea, but the more you are all telling me the more I think it will just be a normal hob for the amount of times it will be used and I have to put a flyscreen at the window to keep the night mozzies out.
And I have one , but it has to be adjusted somewhat.
