Following my initial introductory post here's a follow up.
We have bought a motorhome that we both like and once picked up and home we will get it kitted out with all the required bits and bobs.
I have been looking at dedicated motorhome satnavs which will take your vehicle dimensions and proportions. The choices have come down to either one of the current Garmin or Tomtom Camper models. Does anybody have a definitive opinion on which is best or if there are other better options within that sort of price band which will give the same input options please?
Thanks, Nick.

I can't say which is best cos I haven't tried both. However, I do have the TomTom Camper and am happy with it. I run Google maps alongside it cos she doesn't freeze (the TT hasn't done for a very long time). The 7" screen on the TT is way easier to read than GM. Once I figured out how to get it to zoom I was happy (and TT staff didn't know either - once the route is ready to go, tap on the blue route; that will create a Re-centre button. Tap that and the TT will then zoom in when it gets to points of change, like a roundabout, or exit etc

Thank you. I am leaning towards Tomtom because I've always had Tomtom for my cars and motorbikes before I could afford a car with one built in. The conflict comes as a friend swears by Garmin.

I have a Garmin camper satnav (770 I think) purchased from a forum member a while ago. If (when?) It fails I will, without any doubt whatsoever, replace it with a Tomtom device. I find the Garmin user interface to be utterly unintuitive, bordering on infuriating when compared to Tomtom. Each to their own of course, but if you are accustomed to Tomtom I think you will feel the same as me if you get a Garmin

I am on my second Garmin - the Camper 795 EU - and have no issues with it at all, hence why I bought a second one after my first one had a life changing episode!

I have only used TT ones in cars so can't comment on their MH version.

We also have the Garmin 795 EU. We also bought it because the 770 was so good. We only changed because we like gadgets! We have found the 795 is so much quicker to get and update routes at need.

Like phones, they all have their own menu options and most stick with what they know, which is why I-phones still sell millions. We changed from TomTom to Garmin and the first trip was confusing sometimes, but so glad we changed. The Garmin we find super is to the Tom Tom.

I think @SimonM also has a the latest Garmin too and has certainly done more playing with it than I have. Hopefully he'll be along soon and can add to the conversation.

We have a Garmin satnav in the motorhome (not the model you mentioned) and a built in Tom Tom in our car. The feature I like on the Garmin is the 0.2 mile alert of a speed limit change. It makes driving much more relaxing and leads to less use of the brakes and more use of engine braking. I love the feature and wouldn’t be without it.
