EC620 Panel issues.

The control panel over the door (EC620 Panel) has recently started randomly cycled through a bleeping / flashing issue. On some occassions I see a message saying "No Leisure Battery". Once the bleeping/flashing stops it normally returns to normal use, however some times it resorts to having all the LCD cells on, and being unusalble -- then needing a turn off at the EC600 PSU.

Even when we are at home and MH parked on the drive and plugged in, leisure batteries and starter battery being kept "full" by means of EHU & solar panel.

I've removed the panel and disconnected -> reconnected the multipin connectors etc - but issue remains
Also changed the cell battery (off chance it was contributing.)
I've lifted out the ECU and pushed all connectors I can get access to, firmly home - none appeared to be loose.

Everything works when the panel is functioning as it should, just this funky issue now and again.

We've taken to turning the panel off at nightime - when on the road - so as to not be spooked when it decides to flash and beep during the night.

Any suggestions to cause and possible fix appreciated.

Intact the Sargent support line, they are very good at diagnosing over the phone, although it can be expensive, they helped me through multiple steps until we discovered the fault was actually the cable linking the PSU to the panel. I sent them a photo and they pointed out that the connecting cable had been twisted when I reattached it, that had caused a break in the insulation and random but significant shorts.

Try them for advice.

Hi Jean, so far having worked out how to get the control panel off and jiggle the wires around - we obviously hope that may have re-secured a connection , but no joy so far - I'll take a few days to see what feedback/help I get on here and then reach out to sargent to see if they can assist as well.

Cheers Michael

A small question, do you have the panel on when you are parked at home and the van is not being used?

As Penguin says, contact Sargent they were very helpful when I needed them.

Do you have a Sargent floor fuse box in your MH? It's called and EM40 and ours is behind the drivers seat in our Autotrail. If so, just have a check on all the connections in that as well.

Hello Greg, I'll check that out - have the fuses in the main EHU and a set in Dash area lower right below Steering wheel : but for sure I'll get the head torch out and have a wee gander around.

Update on my "issue".

Contacted Sargent and was asked to submit a ticket - gave description / pictures and also managed to get short video of issue occuring.

Got reply to ticket today - fairly brief.

"Good morning Michael,

Thank you for your email, from looking at the photographs and the video I do think that you have a problem with your EC600 power supply unit and it should come back to us for a fixed price repair you can book this following this link Power Supply Unit fixed price repair | Sargent Electrical or by calling our sales team on 01482 881655. "

Fair enough if that is the cause, but somewhat reluctant to just tear out the PSU and send it back and hope for the best. Cost is >£200 and Lead time suggested as 3-5 weeks. Have asked if my issue is a fairly normal issue to occur.? in that it is likely to be the cause 'to a fairly certain degree' and if there are any other suggestions I could "try" to further confirm this is definately the issue - before then sending the PSU unit back.

Reply has sent me into a bit of a spin - if I'm honest.

Cheers for now, Michael

I feel your pain but if you've tried everything else... 🤷‍♂️

If you can give it a day or two hopefully someone else on here may have some more suggestions.
