Hi

During our recent trip to France our Fiamma Awning has developed a fault in that it wont click back into place when I rewind it unless I give it a hefty push in an upwords direction in the middle.

If I dont push it, it seems to fail to lock into the middle catch peice.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem that I could adjust or not.

Thank you all

I shall have another look tomorrow. I don't have any Red things in the centre just a White bracket thingy, that fits into another White bracket as it closes.

The two locking (Grey) clamps on the legs do look as though they are impeding the moving piece slotting into the fixed box piece. Yet I think I am folding them correctly.

I shall give it a go tomorrow.

Once again thank you all,

Andy

I had the same problem with mine some time ago and was advised that whilst it might need adjustment to try spraying all the joints and mechanisms with silicon spray.

The reason I was given is that it lubricates and does not stain and allows parts to slide across each other. I did this liberally and everything worked fine and continues to do so. I give all the joints a blast once or twice in the season and carry a can of spray with me.

If that does not work then refer to the excellent guide on Johns Cross site.

Regards

Hi

Further to my query regarding my Fiamma Awning not retracting fully.

I have watched the Fiamma Film and I get the gist of it, but although it shows a sound symbol, I cannot seem to get any commmentary.

Am I doing something wrong?

It looks like you wind it out fully, and then adjust the distance from the box, with a screwdriver, so that the it is equal on both sides of the roller.

Advice would be welcome.

Dam the winds just got up :x :x :x

p.s: this website is bloody good!
I second that as we now have an awning that locks right up.
Ray has copied all what the video said and now goes around and looks for other Motorhomes that have the problem and gives advice on how to correct it

Hi Mavis(Gosh you are up early)

I have watched the Video a few times, and as far as I can make out, they wind it out to its full length, which then shows how much the Left side is longer than the other, you then wind the Left side in, using a lever of some sort, until the sides are equi- distant from the main roller.

What I cannot see is, where do I place the lever into, to manage to wind it in.

Perhaps you could ask Ray if this is correct, or am I missing something!!.

Cheers

On the left hand side --inside there is a plastic white cog wheel --place a wide bladed screwdriver in the slots and GENTLY roll it downwards until it gets tight.
That takes the slack up and allows it to close.
Ray said "worked for him so try it"

Always up early but zonk out about 3pm   if the dog lets me
